Are most girls attracted to tall guys and why are they?

Even though I’m only 5ft 2"myself (and most people are taller than me anyway:) )- I must admit I’m attracted to tall guys (5ft 11" and over). Why…….well I don’t know really …….probably because I feel safer when taller men are around me - a security/ protective blanket kinda thing:D . I just find them much more sexually attractive than guys of my own height or shorter.

I also find taller guys more attractive. I am 5'6 myself and almost all the guys are taller than me. But there's just something about tall guys, i dont know what it is but whatever it is, I like it :)

I don't usually care about what a guy looks like but if a guy's shorter than me I have a lot of trouble flirting with them. I love being held and being able to be lost in a guy. He gives me a hug and I'm lost in him. :D Well that's just me. I'm 5'8" so it's kinda hard but I always manage to find the tall chubby ones. And the good thing is, they're almost always single! :cool: Yeehaw!

I don't know what it is about tall guys but I love them. I myself am only 5'5 and my boyfriend is 6'4 big difference :cool:.I think it has something to do with being able to look up into their eyes, and to feel safe when they hold you in their arms. All I need everyday is to have my baby wrap his arms around me. Thats the first thing I look for in a man, he has to be taller than me and my friends. I guess it runs in the family, lol, because my sister is 5'2, and her bf is 6' :p

Guys tend to like this arrangement better too--many feel threatened by a tall woman. I feel sorry for my Aunt Bernie--she's about as tall as me, 6'1". Her husband is no basketball player, but he's not tiny either--he's just about equal to her height, almost ;)

How fortunate for her that he doesn't seem to mind too much :lol:

See, my problem aint not bein tall enuf, it's bein 2 tall

bein 16, most girls i know and go afta are like between 5'6-5'9

however, as tall as they seem 2 b, they're overshadowed by my 6'4 presence.

O well, on the bright side, ill give them shade on a hot day, and protect them from the rain... LOL

I am 6" tall ( really tall for a girl) and usually all the guys are shorter than me.
Height is really important for me in a guy. I find tall guys extremely attractive and manly. Height is a definite turn on.!!!

there it is...i found my problem...im only about 5'5 maybe 5'6 so im just screwed so either i have to tie myself to two trucks and stretch myself or i can walk around on half foot high stilts (think anyone will notice?) there it is case closed.

I feel a bit tall I wonder why even tho I am 6'6". And I played football not basketball. Find girls over 6'0" is quite a task indeed. I find with my height that I imtimdate most girls even the 6'0" ones. Heck I even imtimdate adults and some times scare the crap out of them.

all4amy just so you know in the the U.S. the average adult female height is 5'10" and for an adult male its 5'11. On the 6'0 people the average adult female height I believe is 6'1" and for males its 6'3" I saw these stats on the History channel.

That's news to me, most females I know are 5'2"-5'10", and most guys I know are from 5'5"- 6'. Where the history channel is getting it's data, I have no clue. My brother-in-law is 6'6", and I don't feel intimidated by him, so I don't know why girls are intimidated by you. His one cousin though is quite intimidating, he's 7'7". I guess Ohio isn't were the poll stats was done, because most people in Ohio are shorter than 6', at least the ones I know are!;)

I myself like a guy for himself, not how tall or short he is, but if he's a sweet heart, than who cares about his height? :p

i actually assumed that girls liked guys taller than themselves. i used to like girls taller than myself...although it didn't really make much sense to me....logically :P

so i guess coicidentally i prefer girls my height - and i guess i have found one...a tad taller than me...i am around 5'6 i think i was the 3rd shortest in my graduating class in high school.

I was in a three year relationship with a man that was 6'11". I'm 5'5" :)

I don't know why either but I had problems when a man is my height or an inch or two taller, I like them significantly taller (at least 5'9")

I think you're off for the female population by around 5 or six inches...5'10" (or about 177 cm) is actually the average height for the average American male.

The average American female is only about 5'5" (or about 163.5 cm)

Stop scaring the male 5'5" - 5'7" crowd with statistical misinformation. What this means, in a nutshell, is that about 50% of the female population is under 5'5" tall. So if you're under 5'8", don't kill yourself just yet...you still have about a 50/50 chance of meeting a girl that's comfortably smaller than you with about a 3 inch margin of error.

Italian shoes are a great equalizer...Two inch heels and they make a man look like he knows how to dress for the occasion. Nice for those days I want to bring that 70 inches up to 72.

P.S. Sharing the same inseam is a very lucky match indeed--and a much more practical and reward filled combination. This pairing makes certain positions naturally possible that would be difficult otherwise. Opens up a lot of opportunities for rooms about the apartment that would otherwise go to waste, if you catch my drift.

yes i'm attracted to tall guys. i'm 5'5'' tall and i just think tall guys are hot! and it also has to do with feeling protected, when they hold you and stuff, but thats just my opinion.

haha those earlier stats were bull...i can tell you i'm quite tall for a girl from what i've seen and im 5'8' so thats not average. But what i've noticed is girls are getting taller and taller and guys are getting shorter. Maybe its just my imagination. I used to go for really tall guys- i still have a thing for them. It denotes manliness its masculine and makes the girl feel more feminine being smaller by comparision. Funny the person that mentioned how tall girls intimidate there is some truth in that I think but they also stand out so its all good :) oh yeah what i'm trying to say is that now i've started dating guys just slightly taller than me, around my height, so i care less about the height factor. But I think once you reach your 20's ur less fussy about the looks thing. Younger girls will definatetly still like much taller guys.
Hey if ur short- just find yourself really short girls- lots of them out there :D

Ok, look here all you short girls (5'6" and shorter) leave the tall men for women like me!!!!! I'm 5'10", love to wear heels, and the only men who seem to be interested in me are my height or shorter. But for some strange reason tall men are attracted to women who are about a foot short than they are. I tell ya, life just ain't fair, lol.

But to answer the original question, women do tend to look for a man who is a little bit taller than they are (I know my friends and I do.)

I'm 5'1" and attracted to tallish men, but lately I've found there seems to be a height cap when it comes to what's comfortable :)
I really like the 5'10"-6'2" range, it's just a personal turn-off for anyone shorter, and taller...well then it's just akward.
Lucky me, my bf is 5'10" and wears it quite nicely :)

Theres are always going to be an exception to the rule. One of my friends who I know for to long of a time, was taller than me for a long time then I passed him. He is 6'5 and I am 6'6 and we are both big to. And we do scare girls some times.

really big guys--6'6" and such--can be frightening at times, yes, especially when you're not a tall girl. but I've also found that tall guys are sweethearts a lot of the time...:p
