Lover or Friend... ...?

I have a problem:

Check it. My girl, lets call her "Hallie", and I have been together for a few months. Well turns out, she has a huge problem with me talking to one of my bestfiends of 6 years, who happens to be my ex. Lets call her "Carmen". The relationship between me and Carmen is strictly a friendship. But, for some reason, probably because she is my ex, Hallie has a big problem with me talking to Carmen. What's the deal? I don't want to chose between my longtime friend and my girlfriend. What do you think??

She is probably feeling insecure. And probably a bit jealous.

Do you spend alot of time around you ex? Do you talk to her alot? Do you spend a lot of time with her?When you ex is around and your gf is; who is the center of YOUR attention?

Truthfully, my gf is the center of my attention. I try to show that to her whenever and however I can. I don't even talk to my ex when it interfers with my time with my gf. You are probably right thought. I guess I should try harder...

Maybe you need to figure out what is buggin her. Talk to her and try to understand what about it upsets her. Share your thoughts/feelings/whatever on the subject with your gf.


And try not to lose a good friend because of this either. I know it's hard but this is the best advice i can offer.

P.S. Perhaps your gf is the one with the problem if you put her first and she can't see it

you know, most girls are usually as protecive of their bf's as vice versa. Maybe she thinks your ex will try to steal you away. in other words; you are HERS and by that she means it!
