I nailed this site on google by looking for tips on dating (heh, what else is new?). My name is Shawn, I'm 17 and I'm just another pitiful teen who washed up here on these boards because he has trouble talking to this certain "girl"...Hate me yet? I certainly do.

I'm not going to lie about why I'm here, that won't get me anywhere will it?

Ahh, I'm just another severly shy person. Every time I talk to Carlie, after she leaves or I leave the break room (That's where we usually talk, she's a fellow co-worker) I get a little paranoid that I didn't communicate very well.

Take this for example: I have a conversation with Carlie, then afterwards, I'll feel that I talked about myself too much, or I didn't look her in the eyes as much as much a "person who has a crush on her SHOULD have".

I've never asked a girl out myself, personally. I think I've done it over the phone. But these little dates were back in middle school, nothing major. Since I was 13 I never tried to go for the dating thing anymore. But now that I'm older, and going to be turning 18 soon, I think I should break out of this "shy stage".

To get back to Carlie (the girl I have a crush on), She was the only person who came to me directly and would talk to me, and ask when my break was. I actually look FORWARD to work to see her...I am a weird one, aren't I?

Well, I'm not sure if she likes me or not. She sits down to talk to me when I'm in the break room, but she could be doing this to be nice. Or might even feel sorry for me, because I'm so shy. I really don't know what to do...

Man, I've talked too much already, Sorry. Well it's nice to meet you Rotcchik, thanks for giving such a warm welcome!

See ya,

Shawn

Ah, you're didn't talk to much, and don't worry, nobody, especially girls, do NOT think a guy can ever really talk to much, we think it's adorable when a guy opens up to us, especially a shy one, because it makes us feel like we're being interested in! Just stay as nice as you are to her, open the door for her every once and a while, and maybe after a while ask her out. Odds are she'll say yes, most girls, like myself, only say no when a guy's personality is concieted or mean. If you have a friend that is also a girl, maybe you could take her on a practice date (tell her first though!) and say to her what you plan on saying to this girl!

I might not be much help, but I try! :daisy:

Sadly, I don't have a friend that's a girl, heh heh.

You know what? Maybe I'll just cut the crap and just ask her out next time I see her at work. What's the worse thing she's going to say. "No?"

I'll let you know on her reply if your curious.

Thanks for the advise, I really apprectiate it.
