Hi, I really need some peoples opinions about a situation that im currently in. About 3 weeks ago I met a girl at my high school who i was instantly attracted to by listning to her in a conversation with a friend of mine. Well after I introduced myself we began to talk and really start to know each other. Ever since then we have spent countless hours together after school just talking and connecting with each other. Everything seems like its going great but theres one big problem. The girl is a senior (17 almost 18) and im a sophomore (15) which seems really strange especially when the guy is younger. She knows that I like her and I (along with lots of others) know that she likes me. To me it doesnt really seem like a big deal but i know it bothers her a bit which can be a pretty big problem. The only problem that i see down the road is that she graduates at the end of the school year and she'll be off to college while im stuck in high school which may be a turn off to her. I really would like some pointers on how i can get her to overcome the whole age difference so that we can potentially start having a serious relationship. Any opinion is welcomed!

i also think the relationship can be a bit akward because i cant drive but she can so i cant really "ask her out" if you know what i mean

lol... Whoa. I am in a very, VERY similar situation to you except for the fact that I am the 18 year old girl. I wish I could offer you some advice, but really, nothing has been solved in my situation either.

That song by Sting comes to mind..If you Love somebody set them free.

If she cares for you things will work out sometime or another..It might not happen until you are in college but the song remains the same.

So do u really think things can work out later? Ive heard that once you go to college age really doesnt matter anymore. Im just afraid that being seperated from her for 2 years will make her forget about me and just move on. I mean i care for her deeply and i want whats best for her but i dont want to give up on her when i think i still have a chance.

when i think about the situation that im in, the new song "Over and Over" by Nelly and Tim McGraw comes to mind. I think it really describes all my feelings.......

Well my opinion has to be "I don't know" but yes it is possible for things to work out. But the philosophy around the "if you love somebody set them free" is solid. But the poem that Sting used for their inspiration puts a different spin on it.
If you love somebody, set them free. If they return, they were always yours. If they don't, they never were."
But in Sting's song they explain how being a friend can help you fall in love. It's a beautiful song...check it out.

Ok after lots of thought ive finally come to sensible agrement with my self. I'm not quite sure shes gonna come through on us dating in high school because it just doesnt feel right to her, but that doesnt mean we cant continue to talk to each other and just be friends throughout high school and even when she goes to college (the college shes going to is only 20 minutes away so it wont be hard to keep in contact). When it comes time for me to graduate ill probably end up going to the same college with her (not just because of her but because the college has a good reputation) and if we were meant to be together then it'll work out for us and if we werent meant to be together then it shouldnt be that hard to get over. Thanks for all the help from you guys and I hope others can benefit from this.
