Congratulations babymother!

I will try to find a meaningful name for your baby.

What character traits do you wish for in your baby?

What will be his surname?

Hmmm, Dmitri or Andrei.

I think you would pull off "Andrey" as the French/Russian international name.

Very nice. I will name my sons that way.

The other two will be Dimitrije and Lazar.

Daughters will be Milena, and maybe Tadiana or Tamara.

i definitely agree w/aprilsky, Jaden is a beautiful name, one which i haven't heard before. i also like Micah, Corin, and if you want to be really daring, Maximillian (a bold Latin name). or if you want to be ethnic and adventurous, Chalis is an intriguing African name. i'm not sure what it means, but the sound of it reminds me of a jewel. i love the name Creed, it sounds like the child has destiny and purpose to his life, but i would hesitate to name a boy this because the band called Creed is so well known.
but please, i beg you, don't pin some overused name on this brand new life. he'll be outdated before he's two. search the web for most popular names, and if you were considering any of them, strike them off your list, no matter how much you like the way they sound.
congrats to you two, and let us know what you decide. ;)

More names!

Jace
Anton
Heyden (Hayden, Haydn, or Aidan)
Jelani (an upbeat African name)
Asher (Biblical, a refreshing twist on the ever-popular Ash-names.)
Colin

I also love Dylan and Ethan, but i hesitate to recommend them for fear they will become too common.

May I suggest "Alex." Nice, short, unisex, and the babes will be on him like flies! ... ... Okay, well, it's nice, short, and unisex anyway.

i'll second insecurity's motion and say i love the name Aidan. in fact, i think it may already be in my suggestions, i'm not sure. are you still watching this post, babymother? this thread was started in september, so maybe you have a name now. tell us what you decide. ;) if y'all haven't caught on, names is one of my hobbies. i really get into the meanings of the words and what they say about a person. a girl i work with named her boy Odyssius. i like that name better every time i hear it. unusual, but very fun. let people think he's a greek god. :D

I remember when deciding on the name of my first daughter. My (now ex) wife and I were more confused than vegans on Pig Island. The only thing we were both willing to agree on was to stay away from names you will find on soap operas or Paris runways.

And family was no help. Everyone has a different ideal, that they take to heart. With our families, merely asking was like negotiating a lifetime commitment. If an aunt or uncle or worse - a parent deigned to disclose a name they preferred, it was as if they were instilling a confidence that we could only betray by not selecting it. Especially when it came to my ex wife's grandmother who was offering to pay us a handsome sum for the privelege of deciding.

We eventually chose variants of names of past relatives. As if the manipulation beforehand wasn't hurtful enough, imagine the chagrine we faced at the criticism; nay disapproval, that followed. Nothing is more arrogant than offering begrudging acceptance of someone's personal decisions.

I can't show URLs here so use Google to search the web for Heptune's Baby Name Central. A nice list of traditional names followed by a list of fringe names. Each one with a poll rating which reveals it's popularity.
