How can you tell if flirting is more than "I wanna be friends"

We (us girls) always know what we mean when we flirt, whether it be... I wanna get to know you to hey lets hook up privetly, but the question running through my head when I'm flirting with a guy and he's flirting back, what signs are there to look for in a guy so we know what he wants.

Many of us have probably flirted with a guy and got the impression he wanted to be more than friends, but come to find out he has a girlfriend and he wants to be JUST friends... now how embarrassing is that?!?!?!

Some of the "flirtings" that I'm confused about are:

*Continuous eye contact.
I was talking to a friend, and this guy across the table would be talking to his friend, but I kept seeing him look at me. What the heck does that mean... he probably don't even know my name (I know his though :P) ANd I do have to admit, I was looking pretty sharp that day!

*Touching
When he is talking to you, and he continously finds some reason to touch you, whether is just be a gentle push to feeling how soft your hair is.

*Asking for a hug before you leave.
Need I say more?

You said that later you found out that the guy has a girlfriend but he flirt with you perviously. Well i think he is interested in you and surely want to be more than your friend- it's just that he said he wants to be your friend only just because he is already attached!

Tat is an interesting question.

Speaking for myself as a guy ;) i flirt quite a bit and sometimes i let on that i'm attached even though i wanna b more than friends with a gal coz tat's my way of figuring if the gal wants to have a fling or sumthin more serious.

if the gal is interested in a fling then we cud just get it on with the expectation tat it will not advance into a relationship.
