Fate or Timing?

i'm in a situation now where this girl is telling me that she would have gone out with me had i asked her sooner.... but since i hesitated, and she also liked a friend of mine, now she is dating my friend, and it is kind of an ugly situation... my question is... was this fate or an issue of poor timing?

The problem is that girls won't usually wait forever for you to make a move. It can be awkward though, if you don't want to risk losing a friend if you're still unsure about making the move... I've been down there before :bawling:

I don't think that's a very nice thing she's done to you sandmanDSP - you were better off not knowing.

The best thing to do is not to try and think about it at all, which is bloody hard, especially when the person she is dating now is your friend. I can see it's going to be really hard being around him now as well, try to keep away from them both for a while. What she has said to you will now imbue you with jealousy, so you need to keep away from all that and pretend they don't exist.

Also, don't sit around thinking what you could have had with this girl (now where have I heard that before LOL) and try to think back towards the girls you were interested in before. That's the key, and soon you'll find somebody better. And besides, she doesn't seem to really care about your feelings, especially after saying this to you, so why would you want to be with her anyway? I mean, what was her purpose for telling you this apart from trying to make you feel bad which she has succeeded in doing?!?!

What I don't like is that your friend must have obviously known you liked her too, so he should have been a little more considerate - although it's not his fault all this happened. It's no one's fault. Just off timing.

Watch out though - if these two start doing things to make you feel bad on purpose, disassociate yourself with them. They're not real friends.
