It's a hot summer night, and the sky is clear without any clouds. You can see the moon, and millions of stars up above. The children are out late at night playing various games, and all you can hear is, their screams, and laughter.
As the parent's call their children to come home, they asked to
stay out a little longer.
As I sit on my porch, I feel no breeze. It's hot, humid, and sweat is pouring off my face.
The cars pass by with their bright headlights on, and you can smell the strong fumes.
As I go inside my home, it's hotter than an oven. I go to my room, where I sit, and dream of a cooler day tomorrow.

Hi Judy,
I like to stare at the stars too. Especially when i am next to the sea or watching from some hill tops. Sometimes, if i stare at a particular star long enough, i get the feeling that i become part of it. I feel so small, yet at the same time, i feel so large. I feel small cos I get this feeling of being connected to this universe, that I am just a tiny tiny part of it, just one of the billions of people on this Earth and Earth is just one of the countless planets of this universe. I feel large cos i believe that all of us share a similar consciousness. All of us share a smiliar heartbeat, each time my heart beats, someone around me or someone at some distant part of this planet, is also having the same rate of heartbeat. When i stare at a star long enough, i get this feeling that it is also blinking together with each beat of my heart. It's a feeling that you are able to transcend space and distance. I know it's silly but this is how i feel. If you stare at the stars long enough, try closing your eyes and you will see them appearing in your mind. Try staying up to watch the stars till daybreak, the stars are especially bright just moments before dawn.

Hello Byron,
It's nice to see, you are on the boards again. After I posted the poem, I thought of other things to add.
The stars at night are very romantic, and I make a special wish, every night.
I have 2 poems being published, it's "Poems deep from my heart," and "I feel you in my presence" Which I edited the title, and changed some words around.
When I get enough poems together, I plan on getting a book published.
Hey judy,
You really captured a moment. It's winter here and I was envious to read 'sweat is pouring off my face'....can really relate to it though....long for those shimmering summer stars....good luck with the book:)

Hello Sigh,
Thank you for your nice comment, and it is very hot here in NY.
I am really not complaining of the heat, unless it gets too humid.
:)
