OK, I was in Boston today for the fireworks with a large group of friends (i.e. like 30 people).

Anyway, there's this one girl who came up to talk to me at least 10 times and asked me such and such, did I like this, did I know that, how was such and such....

Anyway, it's not that I'm new to the group but that I'm so reserved that I'm wondering if she is just trying to be very friendly and "integrated" me into "the group" or if this is some sort of flirtation.

If it's flirtation, I need to know a way to put a stop to it, because I am not interested.

Please help...

I'm trying to figure you out. When I do, I will attempt to comfort you. You bring out this motherly instinct in me that wants to shake you, gently and send you into a room full of girls and make you face your fears and realize that being attracted to a female or having a female attracted to you and flirting with you can be harmless communication! ;)

Well, if a person is inherently shy all his teenage life, he has been denied the knowledge of what you call 'trivial communications'. I myself have only recently started to realize this. For two different people, the definition for flirting can have wild disparities. Then you'll have to take into account the personality of the person in question, whether s/he is shy her/himself etcetera.

In other words, I think its safer to assume friendship instead of deeper advances when someone approaches you with stuble 'moves' because you could've commited a misinterpretation which usually leads to a disappointed self with a worser outlook about life.

Wants wrong with a little friendly flirting every now and then with someone your not interested in, after all practice makes perfect right? You flirt with someone your not interested in for practice for when you flirt with someone you ARE interested in. You don't have to marry the girl after all, just don't go overboard and lead her on.

You get more with sugar than vinager!
