Up and down the avenue time motored both ways
hunting for a moment to bring her through...

Your footsteps stoned and pregnant with promises
reminded the captives
the guard has abandoned his post
coming like an echo
through the fog of a mind
leaving reason in favour of a more real solution

thank the night, for it brought you
through the wheels of timeless fate and random coincidence
I was staying up listening
to the sound of skeleton keys turning the locks of rusted
suggestions caged by sanity

There are surely characters outside our field of vision
who only leave an impression
but you can tell who they are
if you watch the differences they make

Give me some mystery
blast the dust off my shoes
Ophelia in her misery
was surely as beautiful as you

Opening the door, a descision
whose resonance travels
to forgotten reaches

You, who see a day which growls and strains at it's leash
can choose a few words and soon be tickling the belly of the beast

We crashed through the ceremony
I was pouring coffee and the sky was pouring electricity
we took off our armour
releasing our amour
hung our preconceptions on a hook by the door

in the poetry
perfect symmetry imposed itself on our senses
precisely as fingers
if I wait by the river I may not get washed away in the flood
but storms are more real for participation

morning blue right through the curtain
shafts of illumination
incandescent coals arrayed in images of eyes displayed
beneath the fluttering weary lids of lovers waking

We flourish in the haze of drifting, walking in a world where
Iris's engage, embrace the optic nerves before the mind has seen them
like the first time I mourned the loss of love
before I realised that stuff is truly infinite

Flowing shadows on the cave, watching the dancers
we fail to recognise that they're as we real as us
and really who is anyway?

The next night I was sitting up by myself
and every uncaged wild spirit that roamed the arcade
danced in the endless hall that separates us from ourselves.

Very beautiful and intelligent. I like the way you play with words and tease the reader.

"I was pouring coffee and the sky was pouring electricity
we took off our armour
releasing our amour"
