Shall I compare thee to an Aga cooker?
Thou toast'st my crumpets far more readily.
And tho' the cooker is a better looker,
My bum thinks on thy heat more headily.
Sometimes the Aga oven cooks too hot,
And often is she hard to regulate,
But perching on the edge, more oft' than not,
Reminds me of the the heat thou generate.
One thing hast thou in common with my stove,
The fire within thy heart is always true,
And neither thou nor cooker ever rove,
But steadfast in my life I trust you two.
A fire for thee is kindled in my chest:
I love my Aga, but I love thee best.
